City Seeks Public Input On Conceptual Plans
The City of Converse is working in conjunction with the Center for Urban and Regional Planning Research at the University of Texas at San Antonio to update the City’s Vision Plan. The Vision Plan is a document designed to guide the future actions of our community. It presents a vision for the future, with long-range goals and objectives for many activities that affect the local government. The UTSA Team and the Master Plan Steering Committee along with City Staff will be holding a public meeting to hear community input regarding the items to be included into the Vision Plan.
The public input meeting will be held on July 25, 2017, at 6:00pm at the City of Converse City Hall Conference Room, 405 S. Seguin Rd. The purpose of this meetings is to have an open discussion of the conceptual plans developed for Converse. The City encourages residents to attend this meeting so that your voice can be heard and we can acquire as much feedback from the community as possible. In the near future, the City of Converse will face many challenges including increased population growth and traffic congestion as the San Antonio metropolitan area expands to possibly 1.1 million new residents by 2040. A major challenge is to guide this development so that Converse develops with a road network and land-use pattern that is functionally effective and enhances the quality of life for existing and new residents.
Following the public input meetings, a draft of the Vision Plan will be prepared by the UTSA Team and presented at an open meeting to City Council in October 2017. The UTSA Team, Master Plan Steering Committee and City Staff value your input and look forward to hearing from you.
